Pastoral Council
With the help of the Holy Spirit, the Pastoral Council reviews the overall effectiveness of parish life and ministry and plans for the future. It assists the Pastor in formulating important decisions.
 
Worship and Spirituality Commission
Arts and Design

Activities include various types of art projects for decorating at church. This may include designing and making banners, drawings, posters, etc., and also decorating ideas for the different church seasons.
Collection Counters

Teams of three adults count the Sunday collection each week. Members must be good with numbers and confidentiality.
Communion to Homes

When requested, volunteers bring the Eucharist and Word of God to parishioners after Sunday Masses.
Communion to Hospital

Every Wednesday teams of two members each take communion to Catholic patients in the St. Marys Hospital.
Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers serve God and their parish by ministering the Body and Blood of Christ during the celebration of the Mass.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Parish Eucharistic Devotions, every Tuesday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, are an important part of Holy Redeemer’s prayer life. This is a time of devotion to Jesus. People are invited to come pray for an hour each week.
Lectors

The lector mission is to proclaim the Word of God at worship services in a meaningful way. This involves the study of scripture that is proclaimed and practicing the readings so the Word will be understood by the lectors and the congregation.
Liturgy Coordinators

The coordinators plan various services, train the liturgical ministers for special services and oversee the physical arrangements needed for special services. The coordinators also find ways for the congregation to participate to enhance a deeper growth in faith.
Adult Choir

Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 6:30-7:45pm, September – April. The choir sings on major feasts of the Church, Christmas and Easter, plus some Holy Days. The choir is open to any person 18 years and older.
Ensemble

This is a contemporary choir with more instrumentation. Rehearsals are on Monday from 8-9pm but not scheduled every week. The Ensemble sings approximately two times a month.
Youth Choir

The Youth Choir is open to students in grades 7-12. Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7:45-8:15pm when CCD is in session. Singers, instrumentalists are always needed for this choir. The Youth Choir sings on various Sundays throughout the liturgical year.
Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir of Holy Redeemer has rehearsals on Friday afternoon from 3:00-4:15pm when school is in session. The choir sings on various Sundays during the liturgical year and is open to all students in grades 1-6.
Cantors

The ministry of the cantor is a very important role to the liturgy of the Church. This person is required to lead the psalm at each liturgical celebration along with all of the other congregational songs. Cantors are scheduled for every liturgical celebration, except when a choir is singing. This person must have some ability to read music.
Prayer for Vocations,

Households take a special cross home for a week and use the cross as the focus for daily prayer and reflection about vocations in the Church.
Servers

The role of the server is to enhance the parish’s worship by assisting the priest at the Eucharist and by carrying candles in processions. Servers, both boys and girls, begin in the sixth grade or above and continue through high school. There are also some adult servers.
Ushers

Assist with flow of parishioners entering, during and leaving services. They greet worshipers, provide missals, seating as required, take up the offering, assist at communion and hand out bulletins.
Education Commission
Baptism Preparation

We joyfully invite expectant parents to share in the beauty and wonder their children bring to the parish community. The Baptism program offers an opportunity to meet other parents and understand more fully the choice they are making in sharing the gift of the Catholic faith with their children. It explains the parts of the ritual and the importance of church laws and customs.
Bible Study

Marriage Enrichment

To help couples grow in their relationships by learning and sharing ideas, that promotes and nurtures healthy and happy marriages.
Marriage Preparation

Couples involved in the marriage preparation ministry meet with engaged couples and, using the FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study) program, aid engaged couples in raising questions and identifying concerns in order to strengthen new marriages.
Religious Education

The Religious Education ministry is a group of catechists and assistants for grades preschool through 12. Catechists provide for the faith formation of our youth by teaching CCD classes. Catechists attend classes offered through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to become certified so that our program is the best it can be. Assistants perform secretarial work during the teaching periods and help with special programs, i.e., Confirmation preparation, St. Francis animal blessing celebration, All Saints Day party, children’s Christmas pageant, etc.
Preschool and Kindergarten
catechists teach one Sunday a month from 10:00 to11:00am during the school year.
Grade School
catechists teach each Wednesday for one hour during the school year. Sessions are 3:15 to 4:15pm and 5:15 to 6:15pm.
Junior High
catechists teach each Wednesday for one hour during the school year from 6:30 to 7:30pm.
High School
catechists teach each Wednesday for one hour during the school year from 8:00 to 9:00pm.
RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process by which the Church initiates new members. The process provides appropriate spiritual formation according to each person’s needs through catechesis and through formal rituals, especially Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, which mark the spiritual growth of the candidates.
Stewardship

Committee task is to promote stewardship spiritual awareness in the parish, to recognize that all comes from God and to use all gifts in thanksgiving and building God’s Kingdom on earth.
Youth Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to foster the spiritual growth of young people of the parish and empower them to live as disciples of Christ. We do this in various ways: retreats, gatherings, bible studies, service projects, personal prayer, social times and CCD.
Evangelization and Service Commission
Bereavement

The purpose of this ministry is to extend the prayerful support of this parish community to parishioners whose loved ones have died and to provide an opportunity for those grieving to do so in a supportive atmosphere.
Funeral Lunch Group

Ministry tasks include ordering and preparing food, setting up and cleaning up for the lunch meal when any funeral is celebrated.
Missions

This ministry is involved with three churches in Grenada. Providing meals for the youth and repairing the churches as well as helping the unfortunate will require the prayers and effort of the whole parish. Parish support would also be appreciated at the freewill breakfast and other charitable opportunities.

Prayer Line

Respect Life

Help to protect the sanctity of all human life from conception until natural death including the unborn, the handicapped, and the elderly.
Property Committee

Monitor the physical condition of the parish buildings, land and equipment. Respond to immediate property needs and give guidance to maintenance personnel. Advise the Pastoral Council and the Pastor of the short and long-term needs for maintenance, replacement and expansion.
Property Repairs and Improvements

Ministry task is to handle day to day minor maintenance problems: electrical, plumbing, painting and miscellaneous repairs.
Holy Dusters

Clean utensils used in the Eucharistic service, clean linens and robes, maintain the flowers and candles, and conduct general dusting of the church.
