Celebrating 75 Years!

For 75 years, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church has stood as a pillar of faith and unity in Liberty City. Our journey began in the 1940s when a group of dedicated Black Catholics, seeking a place to worship closer to home, laid the foundation for what would become a thriving parish. Led by visionary leaders like Mrs. Helen Kelly and supported by the generosity and determination of its members, the community worked tirelessly—holding meetings, organizing fundraisers, and advocating for a church of their own. Their prayers were answered in 1945 when the Archdiocese of St. Augustine purchased land for the church, and in 1950, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church was officially dedicated.
Since then, Holy Redeemer has been more than a place of worship—it has been a beacon of hope, education, and outreach. Under the guidance of dedicated pastors and parishioners, the church expanded its influence, helping establish other parishes and serving the greater Miami community. From hosting medical clinics for the underserved to fostering faith through ministries and educational programs, Holy Redeemer has remained committed to its mission. As we celebrate 75 years, we honor the legacy of those who came before us and look forward to a future filled with faith, service, and continued growth. Join us in commemorating this milestone and embracing the journey ahead.
Gospel Concert Celebration
Join us in celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with a joyful Gospel Concert Celebration on December 6th, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1301 NW 71st Street, Miami, FL 33147. Enjoy uplifting performances by LifePage, the OCBM Choir, the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Choir, Visitation Catholic Parish Choir, Notre Dame Catholic Mission Choir, along with various soloists, spiritual reflections, and more. Come and rejoice in faith, music, and community as we celebrate 75 years of worship, love, and service.
Youth Reunion
As part of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church’s 75th Anniversary Celebration, we’re inviting all youth and young adults who grew up in the church to come home for an unforgettable Youth Reunion on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The day kicks off with Mass at 9:00am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. 1301 NW 71st Street, Miami, FL. 33147. Following Mass we are hosting a lively reunion party at 11:00am for our Past & Present Youth of Holy Redeemer featuring great music, a live DJ, delicious food, and plenty of fun surprises. Come reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Holy Redeemer’s youth community!
75th Anniversary Celebration
Join us as we culminate Holy Redeemer Catholic Church’s 75th Anniversary Celebration themed "Diamond Jubilee" with a special Mass and Brunch on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1301 NW 71st Street, Miami, FL 33147. The celebration begins with a 9:00 AM Mass presided over by the Archbishop, honoring 75 years of faith, community, and service. Following Mass, guests are invited to a joyful anniversary brunch filled with fellowship, reflection, and gratitude for all who have been part of Holy Redeemer’s rich history.
